KARACHI: Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) has condemned the shutting down of 24 News by Pemra yesterday. Pemra’s action has resulted in loss of livelihood of hundreds of media workers and journalists besides loss of millions to the media house.
PBA demands that Pemra should immediately restore the broadcast of 24 News and resolve the issue through dialogue. PBA also requests the Prime Minister Imran Khan, Information Minister Shibli Faraz and SAPM Lt-General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) to intervene. PBA also condemns and demands an enquiry into the alleged use of force by Pemra security guards against the journalists protesting the channel’s closure.
