ISLAMABAD—Pakistan
Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has expressed concern over the sacking of
four reporters and several newsroom staffers by the management of Jehan
Pakistan newspaper in Islamabad.

In a joint
statement, PFUJ  President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary-General Nasir
Zaidi said it was a cruel decision at a time when there is widespread
unemployment in the country.

They called upon the
newspaper management to revert their decision.
