PPF expressed concern over assault on cameramen

Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF), in a letter to Juan Orlando Hernandez, President of Honduras has expressed concern over the physical and verbal assault against two cameramen in Western Honduras.

PPF Secretary General Owais Aslam Ali, in his letter denounced this act by the municipal director and urged authorities to take action against him for restraining journalists from doing their work.

According to the Committee for Free Expression (C-Libre), the director of municipal justice assaulted cameramen Cristofer Cantarero and Antonio Reyes of Canal 22 Patepluma TV in the city of Santa Bárbara in Western Honduras. Both cameramen were covering a complaint of a fine imposed on a citizen.

Municipal justice director, Roberto Ramos Nuila along with other police officers prevented Cantarero and Reyes from entering public premises. They were not allowed to do their work and their camera was also damaged.
